Operations Manager – Food Trading

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our trading firm’s operations, with a focus on sea freight logistics and food product experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the management team by providing updates and insights, while also working closely with the current team to liaise with external vendors and manage overall operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the trading firm, with a focus on sea freight logistics
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and provide regular updates to management
• Collaborate with the current team to liaise with external vendors, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of issues
• Manage and coordinate the end-to-end process of sea freight operations, from contract initiation to final delivery
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices related to food product handling and transportation
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational performance
• Manage and develop the operations team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
• Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, highlighting operational performance, challenges, and opportunities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations, with a strong background in sea freight
• Proven experience in managing food product logistics and familiarity with related regulations and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
